Tim Hortons Takes on Thailand

Recently, Canadian restaurant chain Tim Hortons reached a master franchise and development agreement to introduce the brand to Thailand. Partnering with WeEat Co., the brand believes such a collaboration will enable it to position well for success in the country. “Thailand has a thriving coffee market, and our partner has a deep understanding of the Thai market,” said Alexandre Macedo, President of Tim Hortons.

In Thailand, Tim Hortons will introduce a strong core hot & cold beverage platform, a localized food menu, and surely prominent Canadian branding throughout the restaurant design to celebrate the brand’s heritage. Founded in 1964 in Canada, Tim Hortons now has more than 4,800 system wide restaurants worldwide, which is one of the largest restaurant chains in North America. With a plan to open more than 1,500 restaurants in China in the next decade, the brand also strives to introduce its concepts in more countries, such as Spain, Mexico, Great Britain and the Philippines.
